#56: Ridley Crossbow on the way
I went ahead an ordered a Ridley Crossbow frame to arrive early next week (delayed due to the Thanksgiving holiday) [11/29 update, the frame is backordered and now will not ship until tomorrow]. I went slightly smaller than my other bikes due to high standover height of the Ridley bikes. I think I was too stretched out on my Cannondale, so the shorter top tube is a non-issue.
Road bikes:
- 2007 Kuota Kebel, XL. Seat tube 58cm / 54cm [c-c]. Top tube [c-c] 57.5 cm. Standover 81 cm.
- 2001 Trek 5200. Seat tube 62 cm / 59.3cm [c-c]. Top tube [c-c] 59.8 cm. Standover 82.1 cm
Cyclocross bikes
- 1999 Cannodale XS600. Seat tube 58 cm. Top tube [c-c] 59 cm. Standover 85.1 cm
- 2008 Ridley Crossbow / 56 cm. Top tube [c-c] 56 cm. Standover 85 cm.

I also went ahead and changed out the tires and bar tape on my Cannondale to black (my old green Michelin muds were worn). The color scheme is a bit more subdued from the blue-yellow-green-red combo I was rolling with before.

[...] I am building up a new ‘cross steed in the coming weeks. It is going to be half-step to my no-compromise 2009-2010 rig. All carbon Ridley X-Fire frame, SRAM Force + Red crank (I have one sitting on the shelf due to the FSA SRM upgrade), Thompson seatpost/stem, Frogleggs brakes… Next year will see carbon rims + tubulars. Will it really help me win? Probably not, but it couldn’t hurt. BTW, I am looking to sell my Cannondale… [...]
