#130: Highland Rim / McMinnville
Raced the Cat 3 ominium at McMinnville (Highland Rim Cycling Classic).
RR: Just missed catching on the chase group, ended up coming in with the 2nd chase group for 25th. There was about 12 or so in that group.
TT: Rode a decent effort and got up the hill in 14:06 which was good enough for 18th (of 36). Andrea bettered me by 6 seconds… that is a little embarrassing…but not too bad since that is also true for 1/2 the Cat 3’s….
Crit: Never really found my groove in this technical crit. I was gapped off the back pretty quick and rode the course with a handful of others as I clawed back people popping off the field. I ended up 19th (only 17 of the 30 or so finished with the field).
The course has one corner in particular that drops away that I never felt comfortable on. I probably would have been better off running my clincher rims because the uneasiness taking corners and wind buffeting the rims didn’t help either… David Jones and John Schmidt finished with the field with David taking 7th.
