#198: KCCX photos
I have started to post up some of the photos that we took this weekend. Andrea and I drove back from KC yesterday and got home pretty late. I will link what I have finished as I finish them…for now, we are going on a long ride on the road since I already took today as vacation from work.

- 12/13/2008: KCCX US National Championships (Kansas City, MO) [Men 30-34]
- 12/14/2008: KCCX US National Championships (Kansas City, MO) [SS] [Elite Women] [Elite Men]

Katie wondering what the hell.…… at this point she had a healthy lead. (Keep in mind it was <32F and windy)

Trebon before laying down the race winning attack. Johnson (#1) follows behind closely.

Most of the elite men were inches from this post, some even leaned into it.

Good job on your race, Andrea too. I’m not sure I’d be outside today but I guess you guys are used to it.

The ride was pretty epic… the trip back (and the racing) took a lot out of me. That was probably the toughest 60 miler I have done in a while. (Temperature started out at 37F and dropped steadily towards freezing during the ride.) I started out with Andrea but decided to ride a bit longer alone since I was using a vacation day and needed to take advantage of it (day-light outdoor riding).

That wasn’t an option yesterday for me… and believe it or not, it was actually worse up there yesterday after about 10am (dropped below 32F). In any case, we drove back which took 8+ hours, leaving just before the end of the elite men’s race. We had to leave then because the parking was such a cluster (narrow road with cars parked along it the wrong direction), we would have been still in KC at 4pm if we would have waited for everyone to leave.
